Body Identified In Newark, Del. Murder
NEWARK, Del. (CBS) ―
According to police,
Kanubhai Patel, 46, of Newark
was killed on his way to work near the Christiana Skating Rink sometime after
4 a.m. Saturday morning.
The
Delaware State Police say that Patel was walking to work at the Dunkin Donuts
at 4 Macintosh Plaza when he was shot once.
His body was discovered by his wife
and another co-worker who went to Dunkin Donuts around 5:00 a.m. and found that Patel was
missing. The two retraced his normal walking route and
discovered him lying motionless on the ground.
Emergency
services responding to the scene were unable to revive the victim and he was
pronounced dead.
According
to officials, Patel was struck down by a single gunshot and an undisclosed
amount of money had been removed from his body.
Delaware
State Police continue to investigate and look for suspects in this disturbing case.
