Human Remains Found Inside Burning Car In N.J.

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. (CBS 3) ―

West Windsor police responded to a call of a vehicle fire Sunday morning and discovered human remains inside of a burning vehicle.

Police arrived to find a burning Nissan Maxima outside of a residence on Rabbit Hill Road at about 10:50 a.m. A police officer tried to extinguish the flames with a fire extinguisher, but was forced to call the fire department.

When the fire department extinguished the flames it was evident to police that human remains were lying across the seats of the vehicle.

It is unclear whether the victim was dead before they were found in the burning car.

The West Windsor Police Department and the Mercer County Prosecutor's Officer Arson Investigation Unit are currently investigating this incident.
