Camden Coach Accused Of Touching Teen Girl

CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS 3) ― A Camden high school football coach has been accused of sexually touching a teenage girl.

Anthony Granger, 45, Cherry Hill, was indicted on one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact.

According to police, Granger gave three teenage girls a ride home on December 14, 2007. After dropping off two girls, Granger allegedly touched the third teenage girl sexually.

During the alleged incident, the girl's mother called to inquire about her daughter's whereabouts. Granger allegedly stopped touching the girl after the mother's phone call and drove her home.

Granger was the head of the freshman football program at Camden's Woodrow Wilson High School and an employee of the Camden City Board of Education.

If convicted, Granger could face a maximum sentence of 15 years in a New Jersey state prison.

Police said it appears the girls involved knew Granger. He was arrested Jan. 7, 2008.
