Allentown Counselor Charged With Sexual Assault
ALLENTOWN, Pa. (CBS 3) ―
An Allentown man was charged with institutional sexual assault for allegedly having sexual contact with a client at the residential facility where he worked as a counselor.
Eric Valenzuela, 41, worked as a counselor at the Step by Step residential facility where he was responsible for the care, transport and protection of clients.
Valenzuela, who has been charged with two separate counts of institutional sexual assault, allegedly used a van owned by Step by Step to drive the victim and other clients to job interviews, said an affidavit filed by Lehigh County Detectives. According to police, while the other clients attended various job interviews Valenzuela engaged in sexual acts with the alleged victim.
Valenzuela was arraigned Thursday August 6, a preliminary hearing has been set for August 14.
