Wacky New Year's Eve 'Dropping' Traditions

(CBS 3) Everyone knows about the New Year's Eve tradition in Times Square that includes the dropping of the ball, but did you know that other towns across the country also drop things on New Year's.

Here are some of the wacky "dropping" traditions from around the U.S. -- according to the Web site www.newyearseve.com:

Arizona
Flagstaff, Arizona - a pine cone
Tempe, Arizona - a tortilla chip into a jar of salsa

Georgia
Atlanta, Georgia - a peach
Cornelia, Georgia - an apple
