Family-Friendly Celebration To Kick Off 2008
Haddonfield Hosting 10th Annual Night Out
HADDONFIELD (CBS 3) ―
A family-friendly alternative to champagne
toasts and late-night parties in celebration of the New Year is the goal of one
Camden
County
town.
The town of Haddonfield is prepared for Night Out 2008, annual
festival full of music and entertainment for the whole family that is in its 10th
year.
"It's a non-alcoholic celebration of
the arts and from babies to grandmothers, it has something for everyone," said
Haddonfield Mayor Tish Colombi.
The celebration will include 50
musical acts, two fireworks shows and a countdown stage. This year's theme is "A
Salute To Youth."
Despite the numerous entertainment
choices, the most-anticipated event is clear.
"I love watching the fireworks and
watching all of the people just stand there and have my family with me," said nine-year-old
Brooke Jordan.
Not one, but two fireworks shows
will be held; one at 9 p.m. for the younger children and
another at midnight.
Along with the explosive display,
there will be roving entertainers, food and free parking. Those wishing to
attend should act fast, as there are only 7,000 admission buttons available for
$10 each.
The celebration starts at 5 p.m. and lasts until after midnight.
