N.J. Family Welcomes New Year's Addition
VOORHEES (CBS 3) ―
Less than
a minute into the New Year, a New Jersey
couple welcomed a new addition into their family.
At
eight pounds, eight ounces, Grace Lipari is the first little girl in her family
and one of the first babies born in New Jersey
in 2008.
Her
parents, Nicole and Greg, were preparing for a different celebration when Grace
decided to join the party.
"I started
having back pains, so we were on our way to my mom's for a family party and I
called the doctor's office and they told me to come in right away," Nicole
Lipari said.
The
family had no idea they were having a baby girl and could not plan for her
birth at 12:01 a.m.
Family
members said Grace's birth brought cheers from throughout the hospital.
"They
were cheering actually outside the door and they were telling me, 'Push, push,'"
Nicole said.
"We're
bringing the trophy back to South Jersey," father Greg
Lipari said.
Grace
was not the only one to bask in the New Year's spotlight.
Twins
Justin and Julia Walker were born just 10 minutes after midnight at Einstein
Hospital in Philadelphia.
