Young Visitors Banned From Delaware Hospitals
DOVER, Del. (AP) ―
All Delaware hospitals are barring people under 16 from visiting patients at hospitals in an effort to control the spread of seasonal and swine flu.
The Delaware Healthcare Association says only people older than 16 can visit patients at hospitals. The group said the illnesses pose more of a risk for those under 16, who stay contagious longer than adults and are at greater risk of complications.
The new visitation rules are effective immediately and people are advised to stay home if they're sick and not visit patients or others. The group says people should only leave home to seek treatment.
People frequently around sick individuals should wash their hands regularly and wear an isolation mask.
