1 Killed, 1 Injured In Route 55 Accident

One person was dead after a crash on northbound Route 55 in Glassboro on July 3.

One person was killed and a second was injured in a serious crash on a Gloucester County roadway Friday.
Chopper 3 was over the northbound lanes of Route 55 in Glassboro after a deadly, one car crash happened just after 11:30 a.m.
According to police, the vehicle left the roadway and drove into a wooded area before colliding with a tree.
Two 18-year-old women were in the car at the time of the crash. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden in an unknown condition.
According to investigators, the women may have been playing with a cell phone at the time of the deadly crash.
Crews shut down the northbound side of the roadway as they worked to clear the scene.
Further details were not immediately available. The accident remains under investigation.
