William Penn vs Fels

Carmen Conicelli
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― This week's addition of Friday Football Frenzy Web Extra Game of the Week was at Charles Martin Memorial Stadium home of the Northeast Vikings where Samuel Fels Panthers played host to William Penn.

Game time was at 6 o'clock in the evening on a cold windy misty rainy night at Charles Memorial Stadium.  Both defenses came out playing hard despite the weather.  The defenses forced turnover after turnover in the first quarter.  One costly turnover came in the arms of Fels Quarterback who fumbled the ball and William Penn's defense scooped it up taking it the house for an early 6 to nothing lead.

Second Quarter Fels defense turn to shine.  William Penn had the ball deep in their own territory but Fels defense came up with the big sack on the QB for the safety.  The safety brought the Fels within 4.

Third Quarter Fels defense came up with another fumble recovery this time their offense cashed in with a touchdown by running the ball.  Fels took the lead 8 to 6 but failed to convert the two point conversion.  On the ensuing drive William Penn marched down the field scoring on a rushing touchdown and retaking a 12 to 8 lead.

Fourth Quarter Fels offense had the ball with less than one minute to play in the game in William Penn's territory.  Fels coach decided not to take a timeout to stop the clock, the fans were screaming for a timeout.  Fels rush to get the play off and got stood up in the middle which forced Fels coach to finally call the timeout.  The next play Fels Quarterback stepped back to pass and floated one high up in the air to the wide receiver that jumped up and caught the ball over cornerback giving the Fels the 16 to 12 lead with 17 seconds left to play in the game.

Final play of the game Fels defense again came up strong sacking William Penn's quarterback to end the game.  Fels win the thriller on their Senior Night at Charles Martin Memorial Stadium.
