Southern vs Fels
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―
This week's addition of Friday Football Frenzy Web Extra Game of the Week was at Charles Martin Memorial Stadium home of the Northeast Vikings where Samuel Fels Panthers played host to South Philadelphia High School (Southern).
It was a sunny yet chilly afternoon at the stadium. Fans had their long pants and light weight jackets on watching both teams play some fall high school football. Southern came out scoring first on a 7 yard running play by running back Davis. Southern opted to go for the two point conversion to go up 8 to nothing.
2nd half Southern quarterback Gaskins connects with wide receiver Williams for a 19 yard TD pass. Gaskins converts the two point conversion by running the ball into the end zone giving his team the 16 to nothing lead over Fels.
4th quarter Southern on top and looking to add more points to the scoreboard to widen their lead. Southern offense had Fels defense pinned deep in their own territory trying to get into the end zone for the third time. Southern quarterback Gaskins connected with wide receiver Moss for a sweet twenty four yard Touchdown pass to go up 22 to nothing. Southern opted to go for the extra point but failed to convert on the kick.
Final score South Philadelphia High School (Southern) all over Samuel Fels Panthers 22 to nothing. Southern improves their record to (4-2) where the Fels dropped their third in a row on the season to go (1-5).
