William Penn vs Mastbaum

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― This week's addition of Friday Football Frenzy Web Extra Game of the Week was at Charles Martin Memorial Stadium home of the Northeast Vikings where Mastbaum Panthers played host to William Penn Lions.

It was a warm and sunny fall Friday afternoon where the Panthers and Lions were two evenly matched teams that battled it out until the final play. The first half ended with both teams scoring once but the Panthers converted their two point conversion and took an 8 to 6 lead into the locker rooms.

In the third quarter Panthers defense comes up with the fumble recovery. Panthers offense march the ball down the field all the way to the goal line. 3rd and goal junior quarterback Keyon Dennis ran the ball into the end zone giving the Panthers a 14 to 6 lead.

4th quarter Panthers junior punter Arthur Varney punts the football down the middle of the field to Lions punt returner and quarterback Brahean Dickson who in return takes it all the way to the house cutting the Panthers lead to two. Lions chose to go for two instead of kicking the extra point and failed the conversion. Panthers still led 14 to 12.

Late in the 4th quarter Lions offense trying to move into field goal territory but failed to get passed the Panthers tough defense. Lions failed to get the 1st down and turn the ball over on downs. With less then two minutes left in the game Panthers offense comes back on the field for three quarterback knees to seal the deal.

Mastbaum Panthers defeat William Penn Lions 14 to 12 at Charles Martin Memorial Stadium. Panthers improve their record to 4 and 2 were the Lions dropped to 2 and 3 on the season.
