Thomas Edison vs Samuel Fels
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―
This week's addition of Friday Football Frenzy Web Extra Game of the Week was at Charles Memorial Stadium home of the Northeast Vikings where Samuel Fels Panthers hosted Thomas Edison Owls.
It was a sunny and beautiful Friday afternoon at Charles Memorial Stadium. The game went back and forth in the first half between the two teams. The first half ended with both teams deadlock at 14.
In the third quarter both teams fighting for field position but both defenses came out and stopped every opportunity the offenses presented them.
The fourth quarter however was a different story. Thomas Edison scored a touchdown by running the ball into the end zone from the two yardline. Edison goes up 20 to 14. Fels however come back with their own rushing touchdown. The only difference Fels converted on their two point conversion and go up 22 to 20 with 52 seconds to go in the game.
Edison gets the ball back on their own twenty yard line with less then 30 seconds left in the game. 1st and 10 Edison throws the ball and Fels defense comes swarming in for the tackle. The clock stops due to a flag on the play, an illegal procedure on the offense. Fels however decline the penalty so now its 2nd and 10. The very next play may go down in the history books for Thomas Edison. The play was an 80 yard flea flicker pass to #5 of Edison who took the ball to the house giving Edison a 26 to 22 lead with only 9 seconds left in the game.
Thomas Edison gets their first win of the season improving their record to 1 and 3 whereas Fels weren't so lucky dropping their record to 1 and 3 on the season.
