Football Frenzy: Del Val vs Frierie
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―
This week's addition of Football Frenzy Web Extra Game of the Week was at Martin Memorial Stadium where two Charter high schools battled it out on the gridiron.
Light crowd on hand at Charles Martin Memorial Stadium where Frierie Charter played host to Del Val Charter on a chilly yet sunny Friday afternoon. It was all Del Val in this game they came out scoring early and scoring often. Del Val's senior quarterback Jibri Monk led the scoring frenzy over Frierie Charter. With the final seconds ticking down in the 1st half Jibri Monk ran the ball for 30 yards into Frierie's territory. The clock struck zero but wait a yellow flag was thrown. Frierie's defense was called for a 15 yard facemask penalty which gave Del Val another shot at getting into the end zone before halftime. The extra play went nowhere for Del Val as they headed into the locker room with a 24 to nothing lead.
The 2nd half started off with Del Val picking up where they left off on both sides of the ball. Del Val's offense continued to score touchdowns as the defense continued their dominance of stopping Frierie's offense from crossing midfield. Del Val's sophomore running back Markeese Walker had an excellent game scoring a couple touchdowns on the ground as well as converting a few two point conversions. The highlight of the game came from sophomore defensive back Rashan Walker of Del Val. Walker at the line of scrimmage stood his ground, leaped, and caught the interception almost taking it all the way to the house before being brought down in Frierie's territory. The result of this interception leads to another Del Val touchdown.
The game ended with Del Val's offense on the field running the clock all the way down to zero. Final score Del Val Charter all over Frierie Charter 46 to nothing. Del Val improves to 3 and 1 on the season as Frierie Charter falls to 0 and 2.
