10-Year-Old Wins With Peanut Butter Cheesesteak
LEBANON, Pa. (AP) ―
A Pennsylvania 10-year-old's "peanut butter cheesesteak" creation has won a food company's sandwich contest, giving her a head start on college savings.
Jordyn Boyer of Lebanon constructed what she calls a "Po' Boy Peanut Butter Chicken Cheesesteak" to win the grand prize in the Jif Most Creative Peanut Butter Sandwich Contest.
Her cheesesteak with chicken, peppers, onions and mozzarella cheese has a sauce concocted of peanut butter, honey, honey mustard and Worcestershire sauce.
A panel of judges in New York City picked that for the top prize on Friday, a $25,000 college scholarship fund. It beat out four other finalists' offerings, including an Ohio 11-year-old's Peanut Butter Fruit Pockets and a Georgia 8-year-old's Peanut Butter Kabob.
