The New Jersey Hot Dog
Eating Championship goes to Eric "Badlands"
Booker.
The veteran competitive
eater beat 13 other hopefuls for the crown on Saturday, eating 27 hot dogs in
just 12 minutes at a Nathan's Famous Hot Dog store in Camden.
With the win, Booker
qualified for the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating
Contest in Coney Island, N.Y.
And while the Long Island, N.Y. native was pleased with his effort, he
thinks he can get even better.
"I figured this is the
last contest before the big show in Coney Island, so this will be a big test to
see if I can hang with the next generation of eaters," Booker told the
Courier-Post of Cherry Hill for a story posted
on their Web site Saturday night.
