7.4.08 – Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration, Fonthill Museum, Admission is $1 to $3, Experience "the good old days" at an early 20th century, July 4th celebration on the grounds of Fonthill Museum. Activities include a decorated bike parade (for kids), along with watermelon eating contests, tug-o-war, sack races, pony rides, live music, picnic foods and more.

Carbon County:

CamelBack Firework -The fireworks display will begin at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 5th. Beginning at 5:00 p.m. a $10.00 per carload fee will be collected at the parking lot entrance. Proceeds from the parking fee will benefit Pocono Township Fire Company. Learn More ...

The Lake Ariel Fire Hall provides a grand display of lights and noise from a beach crowded with certified volunteers ready to give you the show of a lifetime. Quarter sticks will provide loud and obnoxious cracks in the sky until full dark takes hold of the crowd and the silence is deafening while we wait for that first shock of brilliant colors in the sky. Join us on July 4 and celebrate with friends and family!

7.4.08, 7.19.08, 8.31.08, 9.6.08 – Fireworks and Fountains at Longwood Gardens. Event time for 7.4, 7.19 – 9:15 p.m., 8.31, 9.6 – 8:45 p.m. Tickets are $10 - $32. Celebrate a summer of oohs and aahs as spectacular fireworks and colorful fountains light up the sky and dance to stirring music. There's no better summer eating than food cooked on the grill! Montgomery County:

6.29.08 – 8.31.08 – Summer Concerts in the Park at Elwood Park Band Shell, 7 p.m., FREE admission. The free summer concerts are the highlight of the summer season in Norristown. The concerts run every Sunday from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Participating bands of 2008 are:

June: Norristones, Elvis Impersonator Dean Garofolo, The Allen Reynolds Band, and Boogie Dogs.

July: The Mojack Band, Flower Power, Beatlemania, Mark Renom, Tom Miller, and Larry McKenna.

6.27.08 – 8.29.08 – "1776: The Movie-Musical" at the Independence Living History Center, 7 p.m. Tickets are $10-$15. This timeless musical classic becomes an interactive movie-going experience where visitors become a part of the action, complete with sing-a-longs and props. 6.27.08 – 8.30.08 – Colonial Kids' Quest at the Independence Living History Center, 11 a.m. Tickets are $15. The Declaration of Independence is missing! Help Phineas Bell search for clues at historic sites that will save the day. Along the way, find his runaway dog, Freedom and meet helpful two-legged and four-legged friends. A kid-friendly, stroller-friendly "Whodunit" that's great for detectives of all ages!

7.4.08- Fourth of July at City Tavern, 11 a.m., Chef/Proprietor Walter Staib invites everyone to experience independence at City Tavern in the same fashion as our forefathers. Guests can enjoy a variety of dishes inspired by the forefathers' culinary favorites while sipping a shrub in the Long Room - the original site of the first Fourth of July celebration! Also, our spacious garden area is transformed into an authentic colonial campsite with the help from re-enactors from historic Fort Mifflin. Dressed in authentic period garb, they bring to life the daily rituals of a colonial soldier setting up a replica military campsite.
