Philadelphia Police Honor Fallen Hero

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― Philadelphia police are mourning a colleague, three years after his death.

Officer Gary Skerski was shot and killed by a robbery suspect on May 8th, 2006.

On Saturday night, fellow officers, family and friends held a memorial outside Pat's cafe in Frankford, the spot where he died.

Officer Skerski was a 16-year veteran of the police department.

He is one of eight Philadelphia officers to die in the line of duty, in the past three years.
