Cardinal Justin Rigali announced Thursday will be a day of prayer and gratitude for Philadelphia Police in all Archdiocese schools.
In remembrance of Officer John Pawlowski, who was killed in the line of duty on February 13, Cardinal Rigali called for all classes at Archdiocesan school to stop at 2 p.m. for a moment of prayer.
Students are also planning to create special cards and thank you notes for members of the Philadelphia Police Department as part of the honorary event.
A viewing for Officer Pawlowski is planned for friends, family and fellow officers at Givinish Funeral home Thursday evening.
