Students Honor Fallen Officer During Memorial Mass

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― Students honored a fallen Philadelphia Police officer during an honorary mass Tuesday morning.

Officer John Pawlowski, who was fatally shot in the line of duty on February 13, was remembered during the special mass at Archbishop Ryan High School just before 8 a.m.

A memorial book from students, faculty was presented to Officer Pawlowski's family during the honorary ceremony.

Students also collected funds which were placed in a family trust for Officer Pawlowski, who was a 2001 graduate of the school.

The memorial mass is the second this year for students at Archbishop Ryan. In September, they honored 1996 alumni Officer Patrick McDonald, who was killed during a foot pursuit last year.
