Share your messages of support and gratitude to our men and women in blue. Tell us how they've helped you, or just say 'Thank you.' : "Policeman's Heaven" Author: Unknown The policeman stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining just as brightly as his brass. "Step forward now, policeman. How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To my church have you been true?" The policeman squared his shoulders and said, "No Lord I guess I ain't, because those of us who carry badges can't always be a Saint. I've had to work most Sundays, and at times my work was rough. Sometimes I have been violent, because the streets are awfully tough. But I never took a penny, that wasn't mine to keep. I worked a lot of overtime when the bills just got too steep. And I never passed a cry for help, though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears. I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear. If you've a place for me here, Lord It needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, but if you don't I'll understand." There was a silence all around the throne Where the Saints had often trod. As the policeman waited quietly for the judgment of his God. "Step forward now, policeman, You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets You've done your time in Hell." God Bless the Families of the ffalling police officers

Your Name : Agnes
Your Hometown : Philadelphia
Share your messages of support and gratitude to our men and women in blue. Tell us how they've helped you, or just say 'Thank you.' : This is another very sad day for the City of Philadelphia. My prayers go out to Officer Pawlowski?s wife, the child who will never truly know his father, his family & his Brothers and Sisters he so proudly served with on the Philadelphia Police Dept. To the people of this city who demand that the Police are in their neighborhoods to protect their children and themselves, but are not willing to help do the job, the blood of these men and women are on your doorsteps. You NEED to take control of your streets by telling the Police who the offenders are, talk to the Police, let them do their job and go home safely to their Families. May God help us all in these troubled times we live.

Your Name : Helen D'Imperio
Your Hometown : South Philly
Share your messages of support and gratitude to our men and women in blue. Tell us how they've helped you, or just say 'Thank you.' : I am outraged at another tragedy. What is even more insulting is the act of the judge (i can't even write his name I am so angry!). If he wanted to show his authority it would be better to do so in the court room when one of these career criminals appear before him. As Com Ramsey stated, they are unsalvageable. Put them in prison and throw away the key!!! I intend to place Officer Pawlowski's picture in my window to show support. I would suggest that we all do the same.

Your Name : Harold Family
Your Hometown : Philadelphia
Share your messages of support and gratitude to our men and women in blue. Tell us how they've helped you, or just say 'Thank you.' : If anyone deserves to be there, it's officer John Pawlowski. He stood there at the start of each and every day and pledged to protect and defend, knowing full well the cost, that someday it may cost him is very life. It's a fitting tribute to him to have his photo there, where he stood and pledged the ultimate sacrifice. It's a statement that despite the cost, the sacrifice, that evil will not prevail, that JUSTICE will. He is an example of all that the Court stands for. We should all remember the man and what he stood for.

Your Name : Faye
Your Hometown : Lewes Del.
Share your messages of support and gratitude to our men and women in blue. Tell us how they've helped you, or just say 'Thank you.' : None of these dedicated officers were killed by 1st time offenders. The judicial system has got to these animals off the street. Lets use the Stimulas Package to build new prisons in each state-2 for Phila they need it. And when a criminal gets the death penalty lets carry it out in a timely manner. When someone kills a police officer they immediately forfeit their rights!!!Sound harsh?? Ask ant family member that has had to deal with this.

Your Name : Ray
Your Hometown : Phila
Share your messages of support and gratitude to our men and women in blue. Tell us how they've helped you, or just say 'Thank you.' : Look at the way the judge disrespected the honor of the fallen officer, in the 35th district today. This unacceptable behavior of judges is the root of the problem. If a picture of a slain officer offends him, what kind of sentences does he hand down. In fact where does he stand on defense objections. Was he a defense lawyer before being elected? This judicial system is so flawed and todays actions answers the question "why was a career criminal on the street?"

Your Name : Donna McCloskey
Your Hometown : Philly
Share your messages of support and gratitude to our men and women in blue. Tell us how they've helped you, or just say 'Thank you.' : "Angels in Blue" What is going on in the world today? Another one of our "Angels in Blue" has been taken away. He was so young and ambitious with a bright future ahead. A thug crosses his path...his family gets the call....Officer Pawlowski is dead! What kind of person does this? What kind of person doesn't care? Thugs who think they're tough and invincible....to a human, they don't even compare. I sometimes wonder could they look the wives, whom they made widows, in the eye. Could they ask for forgiveness? Could they explain the reasons why? Even if they could it won't bring back the "Angels in Blue" who protected us till the end. The "Angels in Blue" who were also someone's wife, husband, mother, father, brother, sister, and friend. My heart goes out to the families of our "Angles in Blue". I'll keep you all in my prayers and always remember?.. They all died a hero....doing what they loved to do.

Share your messages of support and gratitude to our men and women in blue. Tell us how they've helped you, or just say 'Thank you.' : I just want to say god bless all the Philadelphia Police Officers and their families and may the lord watch over every single honest Philadelphia Police Officer that's in our department. I know the risks of the job, I have friends who are Police Officers and I myself took the exam in May 31, 2008 and I'm currently on the waiting eligible list. Hopefully Mayor Nutter does not cut Police Jobs or any jobs relating to public safety and the list is good for 2 years so hopefully I get contacted and I can get out there and join the club. My thoughts and prayers are with all the officers and lord willing one day sooner or later (giving the economy) who knows? But hopefully sooner I will be out there with you. -AL 25 from Northeast Philadelphia (Former Philadelphia Police Explorer Post#991 1998-2000)

Tell us how they've helped you, or just say 'Thank you.' : A DEDICATION TO JOHN PAWLOWSKI What's up Brother, I'm sorry we never had a chance to meet each other. That meeting has been post-poned. Behold my brother, I'm looking up at you and you're looking down on me. Does it ease the pain a bit? No, no way. But you're home now. I am sorry and angry about this loss. Here goes another one, another soldier to the cause. Another soldier ready to get orders from the original boss. Share your messages of support and gratitude to our men and women in blue. Tell us how they've helped you, or just say 'Thank you.' : Hearing this news last night while at the benefit for Tim Simposon was heartbreaking. There was a room full of 1300 brothers and sisters of Johns who were stunned. I sit here now and dont even know what to say. The cops of this city are under attack from thugs and need to be protected better by those that they serve. The issue is the people of this city and their complete disreguard for authority Cops do their jobs because they love it, but we are on the verge of losing the wonderful dynamic that our police have if this maddness continues.

I cherish all Philadelphia police officers. I want to now talk directly to the families and firends of the PPD. We all have had a lot of loses and we are all discouraged. Our city is in crisis and we are the only way to solve the crisis. So we all have to put our badge on and go to work. We all have to cherish our families because we might not come home. So guys, do the best that you can do and keep your head up. And we all PROUDLY SUPPORT THE PHILADELPHIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Share your messages of support and gratitude to our men and women in blue. Tell us how they've helped you, or just say 'Thank you.' : A Dedication to Sgt. Timothy Simpson Another warrior gained, another hero ready for the battle. Yo, brother let me cry my tears for you and bring them with me over to the other side and turn them into tears of joy. This isn't a funeral. This is a celebration. ROLL-CALL! Skerski, Barkley, Hayes, Nazario, Liczbinski, Cassidy, McDonald, Simpson! Hey Isbabel keep and eye on these guys and keep them out of trouble on those puffy white clouds. In those clouds with the man upstairs, the man who taught me no fear, the man who is the one true pure genius. Who is no man. The clouds will open up someday for all of us who are supposed to be there. So stop crying those tears of pain and turn them into joy. So keep my sword warm Timothy, keep those wings flapping baby, until the real Dark Knight shows up to help knock'em all down and keep them down forever? No, for all eternity. For all eternity. We will INCREASE THE PEACE. Timothy This one is for you. See you on the other side brother.

We will have free draft beer and food to all PPD, PFD, friends and family of Officer McDonald. This IS NOT the fundraiser, will will do that at a later date. Share your messages of support and gratitude to our men and women in blue. Tell us how they've helped you, or just say 'Thank you.' : I was homeless due Hurricane Katrina. I ended up on the Philadelphia streets. I remember P/O Michael Lewis doing his morning wakeups. I introduced myself & asked P/O Lewis to pray with me & my wife. He granted my request. That was the 1st day of hope. P/O Lewis tried for 2 months to get housing for us on his own time. Although, he ran into many deadends, he never gave up. Due to P/O Lewis persistence, my wife & I are no longer homeless & we have full-time jobs. We visit P/O Lewis twice a month at his home. P/O Lewis could have step over us while doing his wakeups. Instead, he opened his heart. We will forever be thankful to him.

Share your messages of support and gratitude to our men and women in blue. Tell us how they've helped you, or just say 'Thank you.' : As a retired Phila Police Officer I would like to thank the officers for the thankless job they are doing in Phila. These fine men and women lay their life on the line every day for the citizens of phila. only to be gunned down by these same people they try to protect. When will the Mayor and Commissioner step up to the plate and hire more officers, go back to the two man highway cars in trouble areas and stop making excuses. If this was a two man vehicle would the results have been same, probably not. Put the job back in the hands of the police like it was under the Rizzo Administration. The officers today are constantly looking over their shoulder wondering will it be the city or the bad guy that will get them next. Hang in there Fellows and STAND PROUD.
