N.J. State Trooper Helps Deliver Baby On Route 295

Haddon Heights, N.J. (CBS 3) ― A New Jersey State Trooper made a special delivery on the side of a busy interstate.

Vivian Leigh Parker was born early Saturday along Route 295 in Haddon Heights.

Trooper Jorge Recalde believed he was making a routine traffic stop, but soon realized a female passenger in the vehicle was on the verge of giving birth.

Recalde urged the couple to continue on to the hospital, but little Vivian would not wait. With the father's help, Trooper Recalde delivered Vivian in the backseat of the family's car.

The proud family is safely recovering at the hospital.
