About the show
A young group of 20-somethings form a second generation of Melrose tenants in this fall's new "Melrose Place". The diverse group becomes a surrogate - albeit dysfunctional - family in the trendy neighborhood of Los Angeles, with Sydney Andrews (Laura Leighton, the original "Melrose Place") as their beautiful 40-year-old landlady. Sydney acts as the central figure in her tenants' lives including that of the young David Breck, with whom she has an affair. David and his father, Dr. Michael Mancini (Thomas Calabro, the original "Melrose Place") together begin to uncover Sydney's manipulative nature. Sydney plays a significant role in the making (and breaking) of the careers of publicist Ella Simms (Katie Cassidy) and chef Auggie Kirkpatrick (Colin Egglesfield) as well. Other tenants include Lauren Yung (Stephanie Jacobsen), a medical student in great financial trouble and Jonah Miller (Michael Rady), an aspiring filmmaker who proposes to his girlfriend Riley Richmond (Jessica Lucas). Newest to the apartment is Violet Foster (Ashlee Simpson-Wentz), an 18-year-old with a secret connection to Sydney.

About the show
Four months after Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) and her fifteen-year-old brother Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) are left orphaned due to a tragic car accident, the two teenagers are still trying to cope with their grief and move on. Seventeen-year-old Elena has always been the popular star-student, involved with school and friends, but now finds herself struggling to hide her sadness. When the mysterious new student Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) arrives, he and Elena are immediately drawn to one another. What Elena has no way of knowing, however, is that Stefan is actually a centuries-old vampire, struggling to live peacefully among humans. His brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder), on the other hand, preys on the living and has much more violent, evil plans…especially for Elena.
