Injured Army Ranger Receives Warm Welcome Home
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―
Warriors Watch and the Yellow Ribbon Club held a warm welcome for a 22-year-old army ranger at Philadelphia International Airport Thursday evening.
Joseph Metzger, a seven-tour army ranger working as a K9 trainer in Iraq, was wounded during a grenade on Tuesday. Most of his left side was injured by shrapnel.
The Cumberland High School graduate joined the army right out of school and is serving with the 3rd battalion 75th regulars stationed at Ft. Benning in Georgia.
His mother, Kimberly Ingraldi, says she's glad he's home to recuperate.
"He looks great. He's in pain I know that but he's a trooper, that's the way that he is and I'm very proud of him." Ingraldi said.
Joseph will be home for a month before he has to report to for duty.
