Suspects Sought In Dog Dragging In Vineland

VINELAND, N.J. (CBS 3) ― Investigators spoke with one man and are hoping to speak with another in connection to the dragging of a dog behind a pick-up in Cumberland County over the weekend.

The pit bull/mutt mix was tied to the bumper of a car with a pink jump rope for two blocks through Vineland late Saturday night.

The injured dog was then found on the front porch of a Vineland home Sunday morning with road burns to the right side of her body and severe injuries to her face and feet.

"She has major road burn all over the side of her body and underbelly. She has a major contusion on the right side of her face. This is the stuff that gives you nightmares," said Bev Greco of the Cumberland County SPCA.

The dog, Reese, is recovering from surgery following the incident.

SPCA workers say she remains friendly despite the severity of her injuries. She is expected to make a full recovery and become adoptable.

The car that dragged the dog was reportedly an older model green pick-up truck.

Investigators spoke with Omar Davis of Vineland on Tuesday. Davis claims the dog was taken from his yard Saturday night before the incident.

Investigators are still hoping to speak with Kenneth Robinson of Vineland.

No arrests have been made. If you have any information, please contact Vineland Police.
