Coast Guard Rescues 2 Stranded In Southern N.J.
NEWPORT, N.J. (AP) ―
Two people stranded on a personal watercraft in waters off southern New Jersey were found uninjured by Coast Guard rescue crews.
The two, whose names were not released, had been out riding Saturday and were reported missing at about 9:30 p.m. after they failed to return from their trip.
A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Fortescue and a rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City began searching for the pair, and the latter crew soon found them in shallow waters of the Nantuxent Creek, near Newport in Cumberland County.
The two were brought aboard the rescue boat and returned to their nearby home.
