Good Samaritans are coming to the rescue of customers scammed by a Bucks County contractor.

Several months ago, 3 On Your Side told you about the arrests of two Bucks County contractors for allegedly scamming customers out of a half a million dollars. Well, the new year is beginning on a much better note for some of the victims. Jim Donovan explains that some good Samaritans are coming to their assistance.
All too often we warn you about bad contractors that prey on innocent victims. But today, some good guy contractors are answering the prayers of a family in need.
In September, 3 On Your Side told you about brothers Joseph and John Salvatico, home improvement contractors arrested and charged with ripping off their customers.
Cheryl Kirner's family had shelled out over $100,000 in early 2005 for Joseph Salvatico to build an addition to her home but the work was never completed.
"This is amazing, it really is, I couldn't even sleep last night, said Kirner today, nearly three years later as the siding is finally going up.
Donated by Roslyn Supply and BJ Supply in Bristol and installed by contractors volunteering their time as part of a newly formed group called Remodeling Rescue.
"There are some angels, there's a lot of good contractors, Bill Darling, Dan Sharp, Dave Hollander especially, I can't express how we feel," Kirner said.
Contractor David Hollander came up with the idea of Remodeling Rescue after hearing about the Kirner's plight. Remodeling Rescue seeks to help families with a financial hardship due to contractor fraud, incompetent workmanship or a life changing event. "It is really a network of contractors all stepping up to donate their time and materials," said Hollander.
They're good guys from companies like Exterior Edge contracting, Worthington Associates and contractors like Mark Patton. "I would love to see anybody out there in the remodeling community who is interested in donating their time and services to reach out to me and let me know," said Hollander.
If you're a contractor or home improvement supplier and want to get involved in Remodeling Rescue, they can use your help. Meanwhile, the Kirner's are still trying to get back on their feet. An account has been set up in their name at Commerce Bank in Fairless Hills if you'd like to make a donation.
