PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― In this tough economy, everyone is looking for a better deal. From cell phone plans to credit cards, 3-On Your Sides Jim Donovan tells us about an easier way to shop around.

Pick the wrong cell phone plan and it could end up costing you big.

"There are so many companies out there trying to sell you the plan that is right for you," says Melissa Maddonni Haims.

So she was thrilled when she learned of Bill Shrink, a Web site that allows you to compare cell phone plans based on your needs.

Enter things like your carrier, minute usage, zip code and bill shrink does the rest.

"It just analyzes that information and comes back and just tells you what plan is right for you," says Melissa.

Bill Shrink found a T-Mobile plan that would save Melissa $505 a year, but for signal strength in her area AT&T would be a better bet.

Bill Shrink can also can help you compare credit cards. Input your monthly spending, what you use your cards for, and what cards you currently have.

Melissa says, "It comes back with what credit cards would suit your profile best," and with options to get everything from more miles to cash back.

There is no charge to use Bill Shrink. The company earns a fee if you switch to one of its recommendations.
