A hail of gunfire at a Chester playground left a teenager dead and four others wounded.
Police were called to the Pulaski Playground at about 7 p.m. Sunday after a barrage of gunshots rang out near 8th and Caldwell Streets.
The shooting left 19-year-old Feliz Pizzaro dead. His friend Keith Williams was shot in the neck. Williams' cousin Nashonah Naylor was shot in the thigh. Two other unidentified victims were also wounded. All four were rushed to Crozier Chester Medical Center in stable condition.
Friends say Pizzaro, a 2009 graduate of Chester High School, was scheduled to begin a new job this Thursday.
Pizzaro's family and friends who were still reeling from the loss of his mother, who passed away only five moths ago, don't understand how this could happen to him.
"He was a kind sweet boy, he didn't bother no one, he stayed to himself," said friend Violeta Nazario. "He was just going to go back to school and start his new job."
Friends believe Felix was not the intended target and that he was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Police recovered a white Ford Crown Victoria that was thought to have been connected to the crime, but after talking to the owner, they released the vehicle.
At this time, no arrests have been made and a motive remains under investigation.
