WHITELAND Twp., Pa. (CBS 3) ― Police in West Whiteland Township are investigating the cause of a multi-vehicle accident on Route 202 that left two people dead.

At 1:56 a.m. Sunday morning, emergency crews responded to reports of a two vehicle crash in the northbound lanes of Route 202 in the area of the Route 30 exit.

Officers responding to the scene found an unoccupied 2006 Dodge Dakota and a 1995 Suzuki Sidekick with two passengers deceased inside. A third vehicle, a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant driven by Carldin Laventure, collided with the Dodge Dakota as it was abandoned in the middle of the roadway. A passenger in the Galant was taken to Crozer Chester Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

The deceased have been identified as Diane Washington, 45, and George Parker, both are from Norristown, Pa.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Chester County Serious Crash Assistance Team and the Chester County Coroners Office. Any witnesses are asked to contact the West Whiteland Township Police Department at (610)692-5100.
