A New Jersey police officer was injured in an auto accident and air lifted to a nearby hospital Saturday afternoon.

Wildwood police and Wildwood Crest Fire Department officers were dispatched to the intersection of Seaview Avenue and Forget-Me-Not Road at about 12:20 p.m.

According to police, the officer was involved in a rollover crash in an SUV unit and transported via medevac helicopter.

Police have not released the officer's identity or the extent of his injuries.
