Schumer: Clinton Willing To Serve As Obama's VP

 About The Candidates & Issues
WASHINGTON (AP) ― Sen. Charles Schumer says Hillary Rodham Clinton would agree to be Barack Obama's vice presidential running mate if offered the slot on the Democratic ticket.

Schumer is Clinton's New York colleague in the Senate and a top supporter.

He told ABC's "Good Morning America" that Clinton has said "if Senator Obama should want her to be vice president and thinks it would be best for the ticket, she will serve."

But Schumer says if Obama chooses someone else, Clinton will work just as hard for the party in November.

Clinton and Obama met privately in Washington Thursday night, going to great lengths to keep the meeting secret from the media beforehand. Schumer said the meeting was not about the vice presidency.
