Drexel Dems: Last Call For Pa. Voter Registration
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―
Drexel University Democrats took to 33rd and Market Streets Monday to encourage fellow students to rock the vote.
Armed with registration forms and voter information, the 'Drexel Dems' manned the registration tables from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in a last chance effort to inspire the youth vote.
"We're just trying to get every last student to vote on campus ... I mean, if voting is important, registering certainly is too," said Voter Registration Chairman John Loyd.
Lloyd said he felt confident about the impact the organization has had on campus as a result of this registration initiative.
"It was really big during move in week... we got a lot of freshman signed up. At this point, we've gotten most of the students," explained Lloyd.
If you haven't done so already, you can register to vote online. Just head to our
Politics section and scroll down to Voter Resources. There, you'll find links to registration forms, which must be postmarked by October 6, 2008.
In Delaware, residents have until Saturday, October 11th to register to vote.
For New Jersey residents, the deadline is Tuesday October 14th.
