Mystery Man Looms ... Have You Seen Him?
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―
Throughout its history, the City of Philadelphia has seen its fair share of mysteries. Now, there's a new secret on the streets of Philadelphia.
The small marking, which appears in red, white and yellow resembles a man and can be found all over the city. It appears near the Art Museum, on South Street and in Old City.
So, what does the marking stand for? And what purpose does it serve?
CBS3.com took to the streets to attempt to solve the mystery by asking pedestrians what they thought the marking meant.
"I'm not sure exactly what they are, but they seem to be some sort of extraterrestrial aliens," said one pedestrian.
Another person suggested, "Maybe it is some kind of cult design."
Other guesses included tribal markings or deceased animal prints, but no one could say for sure.
Even the Department of Streets couldn't unlock the mystery, saying they could not confirm the origin of the mystery man.
