Local Vintage: Shop Summer's Hottest Trends

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― It's summer fashion with a blast from the past.

"Vintage is a huge trend and it's especially hot this summer," said Vintage Connection Owner Heather Waity.

From prints and patterns to accents and accessories, you can get this season's high fashion looks without the runway prices.

"Prices range from 5 to two-hundred and fifty dollars. But, the average price is around thirty dollars," said Waity.

So, what's hot this summer?

Waity says rompers are all the rage along with cabbage print dresses from the 1990's and harem pants and studded bags from the 80's.

Another trend worth tapping into? Cocktail rings from the 1950's.

Waity says vintage sizing may be tricky, so it's best to head to the fitting room before purchasing an item or invest in a tailor after the purchase.

And if you find that one perfect item that actually fits...

"Buy it because it's very, very rare!"
