Handbags Of Hope: Celeb Designer Gives Back

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― It's the celebrity handbag line packed with "purse-onality."

"My handbags really are an extension of our personality. They're fun, they're whimsical," said Designer Debbie Brooks.

A pop artist turned entrepreneur, Brooks' line has attracted an array of A-list clientele including Sarah Jessica Parker, Marissa Tomei, Audrina Patridge and Mary J. Blige.

Still, fashion is as fashion does for this designer ... Brook's newfound success inspired her to give back.

"At one of my trunk shows, a woman loved my handbags, but couldn't afford to buy one because all of her money was going toward chemotherapy. I thought, what can I do to make a difference," explained Brooks.

The answer? A charity wall at her flagship store in King Of Prussia. On it, handbags that represent eight different charities including Livestrong, American Heart Association and Susan G. Komen For The Cure.

"You can come in, purchase a fun and fabulous handbag and twenty-five dollars of that selected purchase goes to that charity," said Brooks.

Prefer to accessorize your cause? Then, belly up to the bag bar for interchangable designs that support a charity of your choice.

"It really is retail therapy, but it's fun and exciting and gives women a chance to truly create their own bags,"

All while supporting fashion for a cause!
