Spring Awakening Comes To The Academy
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―
The 8-time Tony Award winning Broadway musical 'Spring Awakening' opened at the Academy of Music Tuesday and will play for eight performances as part of the Kimmel Center's Broadway Series.
The much buzzed about show, which is based on the 1891 Frank Wedekind play 'Spring Awakening,' is set in late 19th century Germany and tells the story of teenage self-discovery and budding sexuality.
Bucks County native Christy Altomare plays the lead role of 'Wendla,' while Northeast Philadelphia native Blake Bashoff plays another lead role 'Moritz.'
CBS3.com caught up with cast member Anthony Lee Medina, who plays 'Otto,' for a
sneak preview of what audiences can expect.
