Philadelphia Soul Brings Victory Back Home
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―
After winning the franchise's first Arena Bowl title in New Orleans Sunday, the Philadelphia Soul and owner Jon Bon Jovi brought victory back home.
Thousands turned out along the motorcade procession and at the victory celebration at City Hall to show their support for a team they say has made them proud.
"I was there in New Orleans and I came here to cheer them on today because I love them ... they're just great guys," said Elsa Houlihan of South Jersey.
During the victory celebration, fans chanted "Thank you, Soul" for giving them a reason to celebrate. For one fan, it was the celebration he's long awaited, but hopes will happen again.
"The Eagles are close, the Phillies are close, the Sixers are close ... so hopefully they will fall in progression."
Most of the fans we talked to said they came out for the football team, a few said they simply wanted a glimpse at Bon Jovi, but all of the fans were happy for the experience and felt it was a great victory for their city.
