PHINALLY A Reason To Rejoice!!!

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― Just one day after the Fightin Phils' world series win, fans of all ages say they PHINALLY have reason to rejoice!

"I'm going to be happy forever about this win. I'm glad I lived to see this team take it to the top," said long time Phils fan Fred Hickson of Philadelphia.

Hickson was just one of hundreds who turned out for what would have been an everyday lunch at Reading Terminal Market Thursday, but quickly became an unofficial Phils celebration.

"They played their hearts out and I'm proud of them. And you know what, I think they're proud of us," declared Ken Lambie of Delaware.

And Lambie isn't alone in his theory. Many believe fan involvement and support played a significant role leading up to the world series win.

The most infamous example took place during Game 2 of the National League division series when CC Sabathia seemed to become overwhelmed by the Phils fan taunting.

Now, those taunts have turned to shouts of joy over the team that finally brought the world spotlight here to Philadelphia.

"It was really emotional ...you really felt for the fans and the players. I mean, you could watch it one-hundred times over, but you just love every minute of it," said Jimmy Iovine of Philadelphia.

The team and its fans will continue the celebration Friday with a parade that will originate at Noon at 20th and Market Streets and travel south down Broad Street ending at the sports complex.
