Bare That Beautiful Soul: First Person Arts
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―
If you want to get the story straight from the horses mouth,
'First Person Arts' may be your next social stop!
"We're dedicated to memoir and documentary art forms ... true stories about people's own lives and the lives of others," said First Person Arts Marketing Coordinator Andrew Schwalm.
Public outreach events offer emerging artists the opportunity to share their experiences in a social setting through casual conversation, theatrics and even a
complaint choir.
"Most of the complaints people have are shared by others ... and we find that by producing and sharing our personal considerations, we help to develop a sense of community," explained Schwalm.
Still, the First Person Arts community isn't limited to direct contact. It also exists online.
"We were able to translate the one day only aspect of our events into the blogopshere through the
First Person Arts blog ...and that allows us to not only reach artists locally, but globally as well," said Schwalm.
