Philly Art Studio Offers 'Clay Dates'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― Forget dinner and a movie, there's a new way to hit the dating scene!  Whether you're single and looking for love or married for thirty-five years, why not make it a 'clay date' at the Clay Studio in Old City?

"Date night at the clay studio is a really great opportunity for people in the area to come and find out what the clay studio is all about," said Clay Studio Marketing Coordinator Mike Donohoe.

From wheel throwing to hand building, guests are invited to explore the artform as part of this special night.

Even if you've never touched clay before, staff say it's a perfect opportunity to become familiar with the substance and possibly, those around you.

"We've had a lot of single people who come in and meet people, exchange phone numbers ... so, you can really meet like minded individuals," said Donohoe.

Experienced instructors will be on hand to guide you through the art process, but when it comes to connecting with Mr. or Mrs. Right, that's up to you.

If you're up for a clay date, the Clay Studio will hold its next date night on Friday, August 22 from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $25 for members of the Clay Studio and $35 for non-members.
