Stephanie Abrams
Stephanie Abrams joined CBS 3 as a general assignment reporter in June, 2004.
Previously, she was an anchor/reporter for WHP-TV, the CBS station in Harrisburg, and its UPN sister station, WLYH-TV. While in Harrisburg, Stephanie was a member of the state board of directors for Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers and received an award for her Crime Stoppers reports, which lead to several arrests.
Abrams began her career as a political correspondent for a Boston weekly newspaper, but soon moved to television as a reporter for Dedham Cable News in Massachusetts. A year later, she moved on to KHSL-TV in Chico, California and then to KXLF-TV in Butte, Montana. She was also the weekend anchor/reporter for WICD-TV in Champaign, Illinois.
Abrams has been recognized for her work with the disabled and also received an Associated Press award for a special report on a woman's struggle to raise her son who suffers from "shaken baby syndrome." Her reporting has also included a series of in-depth stories on the sudden deaths of six students within a six-month period in East Pennsboro, Pennsylvania. That investigation uncovered toxigenic mold at a local school, a discovery that was reported by the CBS Evening News, CNN, and other international media.
Abrams graduated cum laude from Brandeis University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Journalism. A Los Angeles native, she and her husband, Ron, and their son Andrew, currently reside in Center City with their dog, Stella.
