Reporters

Jamie Smith

Jamie Smith joined CBS 3's Eyewitness News team as a general assignment reporter in January, 2004.

Smith came to Philadelphia from WICU-TV, the NBC station in Erie, Pennsylvania, where he had been the lead 11 p.m. news reporter and back-up anchor since 2001.  Previously, Smith was a reporter for KIEM-TV in Eureka, California.  He began his career in broadcasting as a sports reporter for WLNY-TV in New York City in 1997.

He is a 1997 graduate of American University in Washington, D.C. where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science. Since coming to Philadelphia, Smith's reporting has won him kudos from the Associate Press which honored him with an award for Spot News coverage in 2006.

Smith, who played baseball on his college team, is a huge fan of the game.  He is honored that, of the 16 perfect games ever pitched in baseball, he was lucky enough to be in the stands for the last two.  His other great love is golf and his tries to spend as much of his spare time as possible on the links.  A native of Long Island, New York, he now resides in Center City Philadelphia.
