Breast Cancer Survivor Braves Storm For 3 Day
JACKSON Twp., N.J. (CBS 3) ―
A dedicated group of 3-Day walkers weren't going to let a little Nor'easter dampen their plans to complete a 60-mile walk for the cure.
"We didn't train and fundraise for months and months to not walk 60 miles this weekend," said Patricia Ferriola, a breast cancer survivor from Jackson, N.J.
Ferriola and her friends, saddened to hear the news that the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk was cut short due to harsh weather, weren't disheartened enough to hang up their sneakers, deciding it was "too important."
Ferriola says she walked 24-miles on Friday with her friends and put on her pink poncho for another round Saturday to support breast cancer awareness.
