What: Free outreach event where women will learn ways to balance care for
themselves with everyday life to insure that generations of loved ones not only survive
but enjoy healthy, happy lives.
· Keynote addresses (Addressing Violence as a Barrier to Health Care; Health Disparities and Breast Cancer; Breast Cancer Treatment for African-American Women)
· Breakout Sessions covering topics from genetics, to supporting loved ones, to breast cancer under age 40
· Sign-ups for free mammograms
· Continental breakfast & lunch provided
· Entertainment: Agape Gospel Jazz Group, African-American poetry

Sisters for the Cure is a partnership of the Komen Philadelphia Affiliate, healthcare professionals and leaders in the African-American Community united to address the specific barriers to breast health and healthcare among African American women. Each year, its outreach event attracts and educates approximately 1,000 women.
