Weather Postpones Two Breast Cancer 3-Day Events
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―
The arrival of two Nor'easters has caused set backs for the highly anticipated Philadelphia Breast Cancer 3-Day event.
According to event organizers, the opening ceremonies, scheduled for Friday morning at 7 a.m. at Willow Grove Park Mall, and the first and second days of walking have been canceled.
In a statement released Thursday evening, event organizers say they are working to ensure the safety and welfare of participants by delaying the day's activities.
In a statement released on the 3-Day Web site, organizers said the weather has caused "physical deterioration" of the camp location forcing them to scrap that particular portion of the event.
The event is now scheduled to start on Sunday, October 18th at 7 a.m. from the Fairmount Park location.
If you were planning on attending the Opening Ceremony or have additional questions, please call Julie Weeks at 816-585-1545, or Kaylan Viveros at 816-308-8791.
