Mary Stoker Smith
Mary Stoker Smith is the weekend evening anchor for CBS 3's Eyewitness News. She joined the station in December, 2005.
Stoker Smith came to CBS 3 from WPHL-TV in Philadelphia where she has been
co-anchoring WB17 News at Ten since April, 2005. Before coming to Philadelphia, she was the main anchor and a reporter for WTVO-TV, the ABC station in Rockford, Illinois since 2001. Previously, she was the main anchor and reporter at WNDS-TV, an independent station in Derry, New Hampshire.
Stoker Smith began her broadcasting career as an anchor/reporter at EIV-TV at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts while pursuing her Master's degree. She received her Master's in Broadcast and Print Journalism there in 2000. She also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mass Communications from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Active in the community, Stoker Smith has worked with the American Heart Association, Habitat for Humanity and the National Adoption Center. She also volunteers her time locally to support the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure held each Mother's Day in Philadelphia.
Stoker Smith is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and serves on the board of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Television Academy. A native of Wisconsin, Stoker Smith and her husband, Eric, currently reside in West Chester, Pennsylvania. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the piano and running.
