Chris May
Chris May is co-anchor with Susan Barnett of CBS 3's Eyewitness News at 4, 6 and
11 p.m.
May joined Channel 3 in October, 2007 as co-anchor of the weekend evening newscasts. In January, 2008, he was moved up to co-anchor of the 4 p.m. weekday newscast before being promoted in November to co-anchor of the 6 and 11. Previously, May had been a co-anchor at the CBS 3 sister stations in Boston -- anchoring WBZ-TV's News at 5 p.m. and WSBK-TV's News at 9 p.m.
Since joining CBS 3, May has distinguished himself with his versatility as an anchor on the set and in the field with his reports from the 2008 Democratic and Republican Conventions as well as his co-hosting duties for the National Constitution Center's Liberty Medal telecast and CBS 3's coverage of the Phillies World Series Championship Parade, among other projects.
Prior to his Boston assignments, May had been an anchor and reporter with WHDH-TV in Boston. He also served as primary anchor for KATV in Little Rock, Arkansas.
An award-winning journalist, May has covered a number of national stories in recent years including Hurricane Katrina, the 2004 Democratic and Republican National Conventions, three State of the Union addresses, three presidential inaugurations, and the Supreme Court arguments that helped settle the 2000 race for the White House.
A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, May is a 1993 graduate of Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Telecommunications in Tempe where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism.
May and his wife, Lea, reside in Center City Philadelphia with their son and daughter.
