Angela Russell
Angela Russell co-anchors Eyewitness News at 4 p.m. with Chris May.
Russell came to CBS 3 in 2006 from WJLA-TV in Washington, D. C. where she has been a reporter and fill-in anchor since 2003. Previously, Russell has been an anchor and reporter at WKRG-TV in Mobile, Alabama. She joined the station as a general assignment reporter in 1997, eventually anchoring the morning and noon shows. Towards the end of her tenure at WKRG-TV, Russell was a finalist in the nationwide search for a new co-host for ABC's The View. As a finalist, she co-hosted the show during the week of September 15, 2003.
A native of Florida, Russell began her broadcasting career at WTMG-FM at the University of Florida in Gainesville. She graduated from the University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications News. A member of the National Association of Black Journalists, Russell is also a graduate of the Poynter Institute's prestigious reporter seminar series.
Russell is married to Telly Russell, a medical student at Georgetown University. They have two daughters.
