2 Killed In Berks Co. Head-On Collision
BOYERTOWN, Pa. (AP) ―
Authorities in eastern Pennsylvania say a car and a sport utility vehicle collided head-on, killing both drivers and injuring another person.
Police say 27-year-old Rachel Young of Earl Township was heading south on Route 73 at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday when her car crossed the center line at a bend and hit the SUV driven by 78-year-old Paul Yoder of Boyertown. Authorities say Berks County Deputy Coroner Kurt Katzenmoyer pronounced both dead at the scene.
A third vehicle collided with the SUV after the initial impact. The driver, 62-year-old Susan Meredith of Douglassville, was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital near Allentown, where she was listed in fair condition.
